Soufflé (French: Soufflé) is a light cake made of egg yolks and whites, beaten with various other ingredients, and served as a main course or as a dessert. Which means "puff" or more free to swell, which is an apt description of what happens to this mixture of custard and egg whites. Each souffle consists of two main components:Basic French custard/cream flavored mashed mashEgg whites beaten until meringue becomes frothyThe egg yolk gives flavor to the soufflé, while the white gives it a "lift" characteristic. Usually, several flavors are added to the souffle mixture, such as cheese, jam, fruit, berries, chocolate, banana and lemon (the last three flavors are used in the manufacture of sweets, often with a large amount of sugar). When the soufflé comes out of the oven, it should be puffy and fluffy, and generally fall off after 5 or 10 minutes (as does the dough if it swells). There are several types of soufflé: one is the ice cream soufflé, which contains ice cream, pieces of fruit, or hot sauce.A completely different variant from the usual soufflé is the potato soufflé, which is slices of fried and puffed potatoes, traditionally served with Chateaubriand steak.
